METALLIC FRAME
Specifications:
2.1
The ALA System is based upon the
beam frame concept, whereby legs are mounted to beams. Seats
and tables are also mounted along the beam as designed. The
system consists of beams for 2-5 seat units. Seats and tables
can be mounted at any location along the beam.
2.2
Beam mounting configurations:
Back to Back
End to End
90-degree angle
120-degree angle
270-degree angle
2.3.1 Beams are rectangular, calibrated
steel to DIN 2395-1, the latest specification. Dimensions: 90
x 40 x 2 mm, (3.54 x 1.57 x .078 in.). BK hot-rolled, ST-32
in accordance with ISO 2394.
2.3.2 The frame finish is antioxidising,
chromo-phosphate primer followed by a thermo-lacquer,
epoxy-polyester resin coating, 80-100 microns thick, for
interior use, or a pure polyester coating, 90-120 microns
thick, for exterior use.
2.4.1 The legs and armrests are polished
die cast aluminum according to UNI 38256. The chemically
inert oxide layer coating the anodisate gives very high
resistance to corrosion under both normal and marine
atmospheric conditions. The L-2560-60 alloy is noted for its
excellent casting fluidity and pooling qualities, as well as
like other copper-free AL-SI alloys, for its outstanding
resistance to corrosion, whether from water or many chemical
compounds. The legs have adjustable leveling glides for floor
attachments.
2.4.2 The aluminum legs and arms are
offered polished or with powder coating described as follows:
finish is antioxidising chromo-phosphate primer followed by a
thermo-lacquer epoxy-polyester resin coating, 80-100 microns
thick for interior use or a pure polyester coating, 90-120
microns thick for exterior use.
2.4.3 The ALA seating system was
designed for maximum safety. The design meets or exceeds the
DIM & BIFMA standards for safety. There are no sharp edges or
corners on any of the component parts. A childs head, arms,
legs or fingers cannot become accidentally trapped in any
areas of the seat.
2.4.4 The shape of the feet is flowing
and smooth on all surfaces. This allows for easy cleaning of
the floors underneath.
2.4.5 The shape of the feet does not
have any hidden parts or groves that would make it difficult
to clean and maintain.
2.4.6 Arms can be installed as follows:
Left arms, Right arms, Both arms, End
arms. All seats can be specified with arms in any location.
Arms are mounted to the seat unit.
3.0 SEAT, BACK REST, AND SUPPORTING FRAME
3.1 The seat and backrest is constructed
from a one-piece 3 mm thick S-37 burnished steel plate,
perforated using 7/7 mm (.25/.25 in.) square drill, R-20
edges. The metal frame has been described and specified in
specification 2.3.1.
3.2 Seating dimensions:
3.2.1 Baja low-back seating
unit Back height 770mm 30.30 in.
Seat depth 655mm 25.75 in.
Seat height 430mm 16.93 in.
Seat width 655mm 25.78 in.
Arm height 640mm 25.20 in
3.3.1.
Finishes available-Antioxidising chromo-phosphate primer is
applied by a thermo-lacquer epoxy-polyester resin coating,
80-100 microns thick for interior use. For extremely
heavy-duty use or exterior use, 90-120 microns thick
epoxy-polyester resin coating is applied. See color chart for
frame finish options.
3.4
The shape of the seat and back
has been ergonomically contoured
for maximum comfort. In addition,
there are no sharp corners, edges, or burrs that will cause
injury to passengers.

without cushions, with seat and back cushions, or
with seat cushions only.

Both versions are available in a wide
range of materials or in contract upholstery.
The third cushion type available is an
integral skin polyurethane cushion manufactured using the
Elastofoam process IN-6303/N processing system to a molded
density of 400 kg/mm3 in accordance with ISO 53420. Surface
paint protects the cushion from solar and ultraviolet
radiation, and gives high resistance to ripping and abrasion.
The color ranges available are the RAL colors.
4.2 Seat and back cushions can be
replaced without disconnecting the seat from the beam, and

5.0 TABLES
5.1 Table tops are offered in four
different sizes. Each table is designed for a specific use or
design configuration. Each table is mounted directly to the
frame measuring 90 x 40 x 2 mm (3.54 x 1.57 x .078 in.) with
cast aluminum supports. The quality standard is ST-32-37, BK
hot laminated in accordance with ISO 2394. The finish is
thermo-lacquer epoxy polyester resin coating. The core is
made from DM fiber agglomerate and lacquered with polyurethane
resin. The tabletops are extremely durable.
5.1.1 Tables can be mounted at any
location along the support beam. Tables can be substituted
for a seat and vice versa.
5.1.2 Tables are most often located at
the end of a bench. However, tables can be mounted between
seats for added comfort. This feature works well in food
service areas.
